Study Finds Playing Online Bingo Good for the Brain
A recent study found that playing online bingo can help a person exercise the brain and help to keep the brain fit and mentally alert, especially as the person age. The study affirms that a bingo game improves the brain's functions, hand-eye coordination and it slows memory loss due to aging and other factors.
The proponents of the study, which is University of Southampton's Centre for Visual Cognition at the Department of Psychology, has been examining and testing the mental agility of bingo players and has shown that it can help the brain keep in shape and it sharpens the brain's mental capacity.
Further tests revealed that the bingo players showed a remarkable increase in speed and accuracy in a variety of activities that can measure the mental speed, memory and the ability of the person to picked up information from the environment around the player.
The Franklin Institute Online states that a cognitive psychologist from England found that when elderly people regularly play a round of bingo, it helps them minimize and lessen their memory loss and improves their hand and eye coordination. It does not only apply to eldery people, but to all people from different age brackets which can help them to remain sharp later on as they ages.
